Ahem, I dumped my bike. Nothing fancy or fantastic to say the least. So what happened, think my tires were cold and hard. When I was leaving The Landing last night, I had probably accelerated to 25 or 30, not quick by any means. However when I leaned into a turn on La Vista, the bike literally slid from under me. Leaving me in the road watch as my bike scraped on by. The sparks were fuck!ng awesome especially as the headlights were leading the way. The bike stalled and stopped. I immediatly jumped to my feet and ran for the bike. When I managed to lurch it upright, a passer by came and asked if I was okay. Gave a thumbs up, mounted my steed and started riding off.
Problem 2, stopping. I had no front brake and my rear brake was nearly sheered. As you can see in the photos, my stopping situation sucked. Anyhow, I was able to ride the rear enough to get home gingerly. However Peggy is going to be limping for a bit and will not be in commission for about 3 weeks, till I get this parts issue sorted out.
I came out alright and really not bothered by the whole affair, but figured you might all enjoy and ask me WTF????
NO SHIT! Glad you're ok...or at least as good as before. Shitty timing, with us getting shirts and all. Maybe Hollywood can give you a pump on his handlebars. That would be cool...
Ok, go to the top of the blog main page. There should be a blue bar with your name in it and next to that should be a tab entitled "New Post". Click on that and it will allow you to post. If you still have trouble, let me know.
[my excuse is I got sideswiped by wonderwomans jet]
Eureka!, pulled of my clutch cover, it appears to be the outer cover. I think it served its purpose. Anyway, I'm sanding it down and can you say "JB Weld."
Bike is straight and runs fine. A freind of mine has some spare levers.
but...
In the mean time, I got a vice grip on that mother.
On that note.....BIKE FIXED. We should have added Homo-erotica to our "leave out" section of the charter.
So, freind came by this afternoon with brake levers. Fits a ninja lever to my bike. Double-Checks frame for straigntness and fork seals. Straightened the peg on my rear brake. Tightens a couple cables and viola.
that corner is evil...i've lost the ass-end of Babs TWICE there; neither time at any sort of exceptional speed. I was somehow able to keep it upright, although i'm sure there was a Flying-W involved. Me thinks there's some petroleum product embedded in the asphalt there...glad you're alright.

You wouldn't happen to have a clutch cover, front brake lever and a spare right napolean for a 2002 Speed Triple would you????
I'm almost afraid to ask...what happened now?
